OOPS!  You can also add salt and pepper, (to taste), to the bowl when you mix everything together.  Salt and pepper can also be added at the table.

I can hear some people saying, "EEYOU, tuna casserole, really?"  Yeah, really.  My mother was a   pretty darn good cook but her version of tuna casserole left something to be desired, at least in my   opinion.  I love fresh green peas but not in a tuna casserole.  Anyway, a few weeks ago, I was   asked if I had any ideas for dinner.  I should have immediately said, "Ribeye" but I hesitated and the   die was cast.  She said, "Tuna Casserole it will be".  I didn't say anything and I figured oh, well, if I   have to eat it for one night, I guess I can get through it so tuna casserole it was.

Jan made the recipe with ingredients we had on hand, (we did not have any peas), and she just   kind of made it up as she went along and her version totally changed my outlook on this dish.  For   me, the crunch of the Panko bread crumb/butter topping was a big part of my change of heart   regarding Tuna Casserole.  Anyway, here is her version of Tuna Casserole.  I hope you will try it   and I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I did.
