Antique Tractor Pull Rules 2011
1. Younger contestants participating in tractor pulls will be required to hook to sled for a trial pull before the start of the pull. If these individuals cannot operate the tractor to pull standards by the pull committee, they will not be allowed to participate in the class. Safety of the individual and tractor is the key factor due to insurance regulations. In order to participate, all contestants under the age of sixteen (16) must have a consent form signed by parent or legal guardian.
2. Tractors need to be registered before the event. Tractors will be weighed and lined up before each class. Tractors can be weighed at any time, but only the weight before the pull will be accepted.
3. Only one person may be on a tractor at one time.
4. Eligible Tractors
a. Each tractor may pull only one time in each class; however, it may pull a second time for exhibition only. You may enter any other class or weight using suitcase weights secured to the front of the tractor or rear belly bar, with a maximum entry of (2) Classes.
b. Tractors will look original and restored to original stock conditions because of insurance requirements. Engine and transmission kits only will be allowed in the rebuilding and restoring or tractors.
c. Tractors are defined in original stock condition as the engine is original or natural progression replacement restored to factory specifications. No homemade manifolds, headers, engine shields, or frame parts are allowed. Only manufacturer original replacement parts are allowed. In the three (3) mph class, no aluminum manifolds or frame parts will be allowed.
d. The six (6) mph class tractors will be allowed to run aluminum frame parts, headers, pressed steel wheels, or any other after-market parts made available to those tractors. Tractors in this class will be required to have wheelie bars and kill switch. Wheelie bars must meet NTPA specifications.
e. Tractors later converted to rubber tires will be allowed. Steel wheel tractors will pull at the end of the pull.
f. No splitting of rims to accommodate oversized tires will be allowed. Tire size may be increased one size over original as indicated by the manufacturer of the tractor. Tire size of 14.9 can go to a 15.5. Front tire size can be one rim size and one tire size smaller than the original. (Example 600-16=500-15)
g. No tractor newer then 1959 is allowed.
h. No alcohol fuel mixture will be allowed. In the six mph class racing fuel will be allowed. Your fuel may be checked at any time. If extra checks are to be made on a tractor, the operator and two committee members will be present. Maximum specific gravity of gas is .750.
5. Drawbar hook point height cannot be more than 20 inches and no closer then eighteen (18) inches back from center of axle to center of hitch pin. Drawbars must be securely fastened. There must be no vertical movement. No support can exceed the top of the axle or original point of hook. Clevis must be a 3 inch and no bolt or hitch pin smaller then 3/4 inch. Clevis must have top support and straddle the draw bar.
6. Weighted tractors: Wheel weight must be mounted securely. Addition and subtraction of weights will not be allowed unless reweighed. Older tractor weights of any brand will be allowed; however, weights must be mounted neatly against front of tractor. No front or rear wheel weights are to be bolted to front of tractor. No front or rear wheel weights are to be mounted to the front of the tractor. The three and six mph class will be allowed to use suitcase weights and belly bars. Front weights must be mounted as close to the frame as possible. All weights must be fastened securely and weight brackets must be neat in appearance.
7. There will no longer be a second pull for the first puller with the exception of the sled operator needing to set the sled.
8. Each puller will be allowed to repull as long as his first pull does not exceed fifty feet.
9. Track flagman has the right to stop any pull if safety becomes a factor.
10. Anyone operating a tractor while under the influence of drugs or intoxicants will be automatically disqualified and not allowed to pull.
11. Puller will not change gears of activate torque amplifier during competition in the three mph class. The six mph class may use torque amplifier.
12. Foul language directed toward any track official may mean immediate disqualification.
13. Puller will be disqualified if tractor wheel touches track boundary line.
14. If track judge feels front end is too high, tractor will be stopped by flag or whistle. If tractor is equipped with wheelie bars, the rule does not apply.
15. If track judge thinks you are showing excessive RPMs, he will ask you to pull off the track after your pull to be checked. There
will be 300 RPM's allowed over manufacturers' specifications. All tractors mush have a positive throttle stop with a working governor.
16. The 1% allowance over your weight limit is figured into the weights below.
17. If you are not ready to pull in order, you will pull last in your class.
18. Speed limits:
a. 3 mph: Class A Oldie: 1940 and older; Class A: 1941 through 1954; Class B: 1955 through 1959
b. 6 mph: Class C: regardless of the year. All tractors up to 1959.
c. Tractors can pull only one speed per weight class. Third sounding of speed alarm means the puller is disqualified.
