Massanutten Antique Tractor and Gasoline Engine Club

The drawing for the 2011 Raffle Tractor, a 1962 641 Ford Workmaster Tractor as well as for the Case IH Pedal Tractor and the Ford Toy Tractor was held at 16:00 hours (4PM) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Edinburg Old Time Festival in Edinburg, Virginia. The winning tickets for the first two prizes were picked by the chairman of The Edinburg Old Time Festival (or if you wish, "chairwoman" or "chairperson" or "big kuhuna of the festival"), Michelle Heier. The third prize was picked by one of the younger club members, Daniel Heath. The winners were as follows.

** First Prize, A 1962 641 Ford Workmaster Tractor went to ticket #1130. the ticket was purchased by gamine Prinz of Falls Church, Virginia.

** Second Prize, A Case IH Pedal Tractor went to ticket #6071. That ticket was purchased by Perry Tressler of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania.

** Third Prize, a Ford Toy Tractor went to ticket #4595 and it was purchased by John Martin of Winchester, Virginia.

    There was an interesting side story surrounding the winner of the Ford 641and it goes like this.  Immediately after the drawing, Club President Jim Stup attempted to call all of the winners but was not able to get an answer at the number that was on the winning ticket for the Ford 641. It was decided that the tractor would be loaded onto the club's trailer and it would be taken to Jim's home until contact could be made with the winner.  As the tractor was being loaded, a lady walked up and asked if the fellow loading it was the winner. He replied that he was not the winner, that they could not get in touch with the winner and that the winner's phone number had a 703 area code. and she said, "WELL, I BOUGHT TICKETS AND I HAVE A 703 AREA CODE.........." and as Paul Harvey used to say, "NOW, you know the rest of the story!" Needless to say, she was thrilled. She called a neighbor, he came over with his trailer and he took it home for her.
    "Kinda brings a tear to you eye, don't it?" I know it does to my eye. (CAUSE I BOUGHT TWO BOOKS OF TICKETS)! Well, maybe next year will be my year.
